What You Should Know About Liver Flush

The liver plays numerous roles in the body. It is extensively involved in the process of digestion due to its release of bile juice and the regulation of glucose metabolism. Excess levels of glucose in blood are converted to glycogen and stored in this organ. When the levels drop below the normal, the glycogen is broken down to glucose molecules. Another important function is the excretion of toxins from the body. Liver flush ensures is a procedure done to improve its function.

A number of risk factors have been known to increase the risk of hepatic impairment. Examples include reduced levels of potassium, the use of intravenous drugs, heavy alcohol intake, exposure to industrial toxins, autoimmune diseases and viral infections among others. When the liver is affected by disease, patients will be seen to exhibit a certain symptomatic pattern that may be characterized by bloating, constipation, yellowness of the eyes and skin, passage of dark urine and so on.

The flushing procedure specifically reduces the chances of gall stone formation and improves the process of digestion. Persons known to have some forms of allergies have reported reduced incidences of reactions to allergens with every cleansing. Another benefit is the fact that non-specific pain and chronic fatigue are said to improve and most people will experience increased energy levels and better psychological well-being.

The first step of cleansing is the preparation. Microorganisms that may have found their way into the organ by sticking onto gallstones have are killed during this stage. Three weeks of parasite killing have to be undertaken before one undergoes cleansing. Some experts also recommend that one first undergoes kidney cleansing before being considered for hepatic flushing. This is because the waste products that are removed from the hepatic system are released through the kidneys.

Diarrhea often sets the next morning and gallstones can be seen in stool under good lighting. The stones have a distinct green color (different from food residues). Due to the high levels of cholesterol in the stones, they are likely to float as the stool sinks to the bottom. Repeat procedures should ideally be done at two week intervals. This duration ensures that stones at the rear of the biliary system move forward.

The commonest cleansing product is raw vegetable juice. Examples of vegetables that one may try out include cauliflower, cabbage, beets, cucumber, carrots and greens. Blending three or four of them together is sufficient for most people. These vegetables have the ability to reduce the levels of acidity in the body. They release a chemical known as beta carotene that is in turn converted to vitamin A. The vitamin helps with the removal of toxins.

Apart from the vegetables, there are a number of other foods and supplements that have been shown to be beneficial. Foods that are rich in potassium such as sweet potatoes, beans and bananas help with hepatic cleansing and also lower the levels of cholesterol, a precursor for gall stones. Other useful foods include black strap molasses, milk thistle and coffee enemas. Coffee enemas work by relieving constipating and enhancing the flow of bile.

The cleansing procedure should be conducted after every six months. It is considered safe without any obvious side effects. The only thing that you may need to look out for is a sick feeling that is experienced for about two days. No treatment is required though. Avoid taking chemical drugs as much as possible during cleansing.
