The Jobs In Healthcare Are Growing

By Myron Listons

The healthcare industry is in extreme change. Everything from medical billing to insurance is all beginning to see a new face. Medical billers are becoming more aware of the fact that you can easily find a job because there is a shortage of qualified doctors. Other jobs like nursing, home healthcare aids, physicians and other similar job titles all seem to be growing. However, the pay is not growing. The United States and other countries are often choosing to hire help that are willing to work for less money. This means that the job market gets effected negatively. We are in a presidential race this year for the White House. Many politicians see health insurance and jobs in a negative state right now.

It is important to become advanced in your skills as the years move forward. Most jobs that are paying $70,000 to $150,000 per year require you to have a college degree and 10 or more years of professional experience in the field. It is hard to find someone that is qualified for most jobs. Many jobs also require you to have certification and good job recommendations. It is important for you to have a lot of contacts so that you can ask someone for a reference if you need one. Even if you do not like your current job, always try to leave on good terms. In this way, you will have a good track record.

Many healthcare companies are paying their employees less money because they cannot find a profitable way to their claims. Many claims go unpaid each year. Doctors complain that it is because of the insurance companies rejecting their claims for payment. Many physicians today are asking their patients to pay in cash if they possibly can. Physicians often want to see better pay and higher wages. This is understandable since a lot of doctors today feel that they are not being treated fairly.

If you work in medical billing and coding, you may have seen this trend happening all across America today. Most billing companies are helping healthcare companies to see profits. Many physicians are beginning to outsource their work to professional medical billing companies. Who can blame them? Medical billing companies often get 30% more revenue each year for them. They also save doctors money on labor and software costs. It is estimated that doctors that do their own in house billing will lose 20% or more revenue from their claims. The reason for this is that they often hire medical billers and coders that do not have advanced enough skills to code correctly.

In the future, healthcare jobs are expected to grow by 20%. There is a good chance that 1 out of 5 people will be working in healthcare in some way, shape or form. It is a rising industry with a baby boomer generation quickly approaching for senior citizen care. If you plan on building a career in healthcare, get your master's degree, certifications and have lots of verifiable job experience. You will be able to get jobs a lot easier with the more training that you have.
