Having a good tan is really great and it improves the appearance of an individual especially when they go to the beach. There are various options a person has with regards to having a tanned skin. One can have a sun self tan or sunless self tan. Each option has different advantages and disadvantages associated with it. Several people prefer the sun self tan due to the many benefits associated with it and some people still have some reservations with regards to it.

A client will always seek to pay the least amount of money for any good or service. Most of the sunless lotions available to an individual are quite expensive hence out of reach for most people. Sunbathing is free therefore for someone who may not have the money to buy the lotions; they can consider a self tan.

When one is exposed to sun rays, their skin produces melanin which makes one to have a tanned skin. This is a very natural way of having glowing skin unlike when one using lotions that may contain chemicals which can be very dangerous to the skin. The effect of a self tan from the sun is much more and effective than from when one is using a lotion.

Each individual requires vitamin D in their bodies. This is a very essential nutrient and the lack of it can lead to one having rickets. When one is therefore exposed to sun rays during a self tan process, they not only tan their skins but they are also getting vitamin D from the sun which is important for the proper functioning of the body.

Most sunless lotions, take time before one can notice the impact or the change of their skin. This therefore means that one will have to use them for a considerable amount of time before they can see the change. This also translates to more money that needs to be spent since one has to follow the instructions of application for the required period of time. The sun is very effective since it immediately enables the skin to produce melanin that causes the skin to darken naturally and within a short period of time.

Skin damage can be brought about by too much exposure to ultra violet rays of the sun without any protection. One can even get skin cancer due to exposure to these dangerous rays during self tan. The greatest disadvantage is that one will have to be in the sun without sunscreen for several minutes each day. Exposure to sun rays without SPF protection can be quite disastrous to an individual.

One would want to always look young for as long as possible. This is however not possible, an individual has to age as time goes on. Too much exposure of sun rays during self tanning can make a person to have wrinkles hence age very faster as compared to if they were exposed to sun rays for less time.

There are quite a number of benefits of sun self tan. One must however evaluate their options and the advantages and disadvantages of various ways of achieving a tan before they can settle on one way. Self sun tan however is more beneficial than various methods.
