They are also advised to take part in extra curricula activities to help free their spirits.

It is important for the counselors to remind their patients that its not their fault that they had to be abused. It is made known to them that nothing is wrong with them hence its normal for them to feel ashamed of what they had been through but this should not interfere with their treatment. They are however not supposed to withhold any information no matter how tragic it may be.

In choosing the right counselor, it is important to look at credentials. One must have received the necessary type of training and they should also have experience in what they do. This is due to the fact that there are many con artists in the market. A legit counselor is supposed to be registered in a known company. A thorough background check should always be conducted.

In conclusion, it is important for victims of emotional abuse to seek help as early as possible. This is because failure to take immediate action may result in them developing negative behaviors such as being violent, isolating themselves or even engaging in drug use. This may hurt those who are around them and make individuals distance themselves from them.
